After the CDC announced that fully vaccinated individuals can resume outdoor activities without wearing a mask, it appeared that Americans exhaled a collective sigh of relief. Many restaurants were in hibernation since early last year and piling up debt by keeping their doors closed. Fortunately, some like The Henry have retooled with safety in mind and recently re-opened.
The Henry is located in the Robertson Plaza in West Hollywood. This beautiful new development is home to The Henry as well as trendy businesses such as upscale bar, Bibo, Blue Bottle Coffe, and Box Union, where they have reinvented the sport of boxing. Since my last visit, The Henry added outdoor seating with plenty of shade umbrellas.
The Henry is a striking restaurant. It is beautifully designed with an open architecture, an abundance of natural lighting, and high ceilings. This openness and considerable indirect lighting make The Henry warm and inviting. Seating ranges from sofas to booths, tables, and high tops. The high ceilings keep the interior noise down to a minimum.
Negronis are hot right now and their White Negroni features Botanist Gin, an artisanal gin made from hand foraged ingredients on Islay. This drink is much smoother without Campari and has a nice grapefruit finish. The Thai Grapefruit Smash is also very smooth as they use Ketel One as the base. With the exception of The Henry’s Sangria, all of their signature cocktails are $18.
On the list of appetizers, there is something for everyone. Whether you lean towards Asian cuisine, upscale American, or vegetarian, the choices are thoughtful and trend towards today’s tastes. Instead of using ground pork or chicken, they place boneless short ribs inside their dumplings. The Spicy Tuna and Crispy Rice is sweet, spicy, and crispy. This dish is addictive!
The entrees, however, veer mainstream with typical dishes such as Rotisserie Chicken, Braised Short Ribs, and Seared Ahi. While I don’t fancy myself as a steak person, I commend the chef that came up with the Korean Prime Skirt Steak ($36). The skirt steak was charred on the outside and medium-rare, as I requested on the inside. They used a typical southeast Asian sauce.
The Roasted Turkey French Dip ($18) is a healthier version of the traditional French Dip. They elevate the flavor of this sandwich by adding horseradish aioli, havarti cheese, and wrapped around a freshly baked garlic parmesan roll. It is served with an au jus dipping sauce.
They source their coffee beans from Forster and Burnett, a direct trade coffee roaster. large selection of espresso and coffee drinks. It goes without saying that their flat white is tasty, they even have cortado and gibraltar on the menu. Gourmet coffee drinks include ingredients like almond milk, cocoa, cream, caramel, and hazelnut.
Visit The Henry to enjoy lunch with a colleague, gather the family together for dinner, or treat yourself to a post-work drink at the bar. The Henry has the environment, food, and drinks to match. With so much going for it, it is back on track to become a great destination restaurant.

Hi Bryan,
All of the food here looks great!! I really like the idea of Short Rib Potstickers. A good change from the usual.
Also, the Spicy Tuna and Crispy Rice looks like a work of art in the photo you took. Great shot!!
I would like to try this place sometime based on your review.
