Tuesday, Feb. 5 is National Nutella Day. It is a holiday that celebrates Nutella – a sweetened cocoa hazelnut spread that is produced by the Italian company Ferrero. The first World Nutella Day was founded and hosted by blogger Sara Rosso on Feb. 5, 2007. She hosted it for the next 8 years and transferred the event to Ferrero in 2015.
If you enjoy Nutella, I’ve found some places that use Nutella in a delicious way. If that is the case for you, make a point to enjoy this confection on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Papillon International Bakery
The ponchik is an Armenian donut and at the Papillon International Bakery, they make them to order. It is similar to a cream filled donut with powdered sugar on top. One of the available fillings is Nutella and it is one of the more popular Nutella desserts in LA.

Dominique Ansel Bakery
Milk Bread is actually an Asian creation, but with Chef Dominique Ansel’s creativity, he has turned this into a big pretzel with braids of dough filled with Nutella and topped with a sweet hazelnut spread with sesame seeds. Once you eat one bite of this, you can’t hold back. It’s quite addictive.

Amandine Patisserie Cafe
Amandine’s menu section dedicated to croissants is a particular highlight, with options for plain, chocolate, almond, and a decadent Strawberry Nutella. I’m definitely returning to enjoy the Strawberry Nutella croissant.

I recently enjoyed the Banana Nutella French Toast for breakfast. It is available with either two or three slices of think French Toast topped with a generous amount of Nutella and bananas. They also include butter and maple syrup on the side.

Roman Aroma
Roman Aroma is an Italian espresso bar that prepares panini, pastries & gelato. While I visit them regularly to pick up cannolis, their Nutella Croissant is very good. The croissant is flakey and the Nutella is layered inside.
