Long Beach Cambodian Restaurant Week begins today, Mar 19. The United Cambodian Community sponsors this weeklong event to pay homage to the delicious cuisine of their Cambodian community. The event runs through Sun, Mar 26.
For many, Cambodian cuisine is relatively known. Traditional Cambodian food is likened to Thai food but with a precise set of flavors − salty, sweet, spicy, and sour which form a distinctive taste without chili. Amok, a coconut fish curry Amok is Cambodia’s national dish, a fragrant and spicy coconut fish curry tenderly steamed in banana leaves.
Select eateries will offer a Long Beach Cambodian Restaurant Week special or feature $5, $10, $15, and $20 specialties at participating Cambodian restaurants and food businesses across Long Beach.

Phnom Penh Noodle Shack needs no introduction and has served comfort food to the local Cambodian community since its opening in 1985. Even Eater LA and The Infatuation have featured them. I reviewed them here.
Seafood lover? Try A&J Seafood Shack for Cambodian and Asian fusion dishes such as crispy salmon, salt and pepper shrimp, whole crab, or lobster. If you aren’t a surf lover, they also feature grilled angus short ribs and beef stick skewers as a sandwich or combination.
