National Cheesesteak Day is Wed. March 24. In recognition of this event, Figueroa Philly is offering $2 off their “Famous Figueroa Philly” Cheesesteak to all of their customers on March 24. Figueroa Philly is located on Figueroa St across from Exposition Park.
Because good sandwiches begin with quality bread, owner Danny Hizami imports his rolls from Amoroso Bakery in Philadelphia. Like Tony Luke’s and Jim’s Steaks in Philadelphia, Figueroa Philly uses flavorful rib-eye steak in their sandwiches making it as authentic as it could be.
If you can’t make it to Figueroa Philly, I’ve assembled a mini roundup of restaurants that prepare the iconic Philly sandwich.

Philadelphia Steak and Hoagie
It is a hole in the wall, sharing a lot with a liquor store, but fortunately, ample parking is available. In addition to their cheesesteaks, they also feature tortas like their Super Torta, a torta on steroids with pork milanesa, fried egg, ham, bacon, chorizo, avocado, cheese, chipotle sauce, onion, and mayo. They also feature burgers, fries, and onion rings.

Victor’s Jr.
Victor’s Jr Philly Cheesesteak is a generous portion of all-natural prime beef, grilled onions, blended with provolone and mozzarella cheese. While it isn’t the authentic Philly experience, it is a delicious sandwich.
