Firefly is a popular and well-established restaurant located in Studio City. In order to try their updated Sunday brunch menu, I paid them a visit.
As you enter the restaurant, there is a library lounge setting with couches and a classic bar from the past. Walking past the bar, you walk out onto a beautiful patio which appears to be outdoors, but is protected from the elements. Ivy, indoor plants and trees help establish the setting. Along the wall are Moroccan-style cabanas for a romantic dining experience.
Avocado toast consists of toasted french bread topped with slices of ripe avocado, micro greens and red pepper flakes in a beautiful presentation. The pepper flakes nicely elevates the taste of this dish.
Thick cut brioche French toast is dusted with powdered sugar and surrounded with vanilla whipped cream, brandied roasted apples and thick maple syrup. The thickness of brioche is great for sopping up the rich maple syrup.
Their Wagyu beef burger comes paired with a bacon onion marmalade. It is moist and full of flavor. It is surrounded by a toasted artisan bun and served with fries. Burger lovers will definitely appreciate this offering.
Other items of interest include: lobster & vegetable scrambles, hangar steak with fingerling potatoes, steelhead salmon with local beets and a wide assortment of fresh baked pastries.
Of course one of the primary reasons to go to brunch instead of breakfast are the drinks that are offered. The Peach Bellini is a fruity sparkling wine which is a good sipping drink to set the mood. The Pineapple Express is a fun vodka cocktail bursting with fresh pineapple flavor.
C.I.A. alum and former Food Network Cutthroat Kitchen winner, Perry Pollaci, recently took over the kitchen as executive chef. The menu now has his signature and style. It features items such as: tomahawk steak for two, filet mignon with smoked potato puree and broccolini and bordelaise, house-made charcuterie, and and grilled octopus with squid ink-glazed potatoes with bordelaise.
Sunday Brunch is served from 11am – 3pm. They are featuring a special prix fixe Mother’s Day brunch.
If you want to impress either your date or your mom, Firefly is the place for great ambiance, service and food.

Hi Bryan,
Another great review. Comment………I think the date you have of “Saturday, May 14” is incorrect? Did you mean “Saturday, April 15”? I just thought you should know. Take care………Dean
