Now that it is October, Oktoberfest is in full swing. This means there will be plenty of traditional celebrations such as dirndl dresses and lederhosen outfits, giant Bavarian pretzels, and of course the obligatory keg tapping which leads to questionable activities like nail driving and the embarrassing chicken dance. But the feast and the party doesn’t start until a platter of bratwurst hits the table.
The majority of Oktoberfest events are held outdoors and are rather warm if they are situated inland. I’m happy to report that many beachside offerings are available this year and attendees should benefit from the cool ocean breeze.
