Thanks to businesses such as Teddy’s Red Tacos and Tacos Y Birria La Unica, birria is one of the hottest trends in LA. The owners of Proudly Serving and Bee Taqueria recently collaborated to create the BEErria Burger, an orgasmic mashup between the two chefs. On Fri. Aug 5, you’ll have the one-time opportunity to experience this bodacious burger.
If you haven’t heard of Bee Taqueria, owner/chef Alex Carrasco hails from Mexico City. He’s worked in the kitchen at notable restaurants such as Viceroy, Joe’s Restaurant, Paiche, Mo-chica, Red Medicine, and Mozza.
Proudly Serving recently took residence at Project Barley in King Harbor. Since they now have a permanent kitchen, they have expanded their offerings. Proudly Serving’s IG feed recently featured a chili cheeseburger with the insides oozing from the bun.
Their collab project, the BEErria burger ($14), includes a double patty with cheese, griddled onions, topped with roasted lamb birria, and a melted cheese skirt. It is served with a side of consommé for your dipping pleasure.
For the BEErria burger, they decided to make birria the real way by roasting a whole lamb which took around 5-6 hours over an open flame. They then decided to make a cheese skirt, essentially making this a quesabirria burger. They ultimately paired it with a side of consommé for dipping.
If you like burgers and birria, this one-time pop-up is a no-brainer. Place it on your calendar now! They begin on Friday, Aug 5, at 4:00 p.m. until they sell out.
