The owners of Silva’s Bar and Grill in Santa Ana recently renovated and reopened with an elevated bistro setting serving international cuisine while highlighting Brazilian meats prepared in a Churrascaria. To reflect this transformation, they named the restaurant Silva’s Fresh Eatery and Churrascaria.
Silva’s Fresh Eatery and Churrascaria is located near the corner of Bristol and MacArthur in Santa Ana. It is located a few steps east of LA Fitness. Because of the way the parking lot is designed, it is best to turn west into the northernmost driveway next to the Bristol / MacArthur intersection, then take a slight jog to the right and you’ll see Silva’s Fresh Eatery and Churrascaria on your left-hand side.
The kitchen is led by Chef John Vega (formerly Roy’s of Newport Beach). The menu is focused on healthy seasonal offerings made with organic items that are locally sourced. The “Kitchen Menu” consists of made-to-order appetizers and entrees such as Mama Silva’s Classic Chicken Stroganoff, Shrimp ‘a la BoBo’ and whole pizzas.
As you enter the restaurant, you can’t help but notice their classy bar. It was decorated for the holiday season and very festive. Their speciality craft cocktail menu includes popular drinks such as their Brazilian Mule, Martini and Margarita. I selected the Passion Fruit Caipirinha and my friend chose the traditional Caipirinha. Both were smooth, delicious and set a great tone for what we were about to experience.
In addition to the craft cocktails we experienced, they also have a selection of beer available. Wine lovers will appreciate the curated selection of wines (Napa, Paso Robles, Cascades and imported wines from Chile, France and New Zealand) available by the glass or bottle.
The big draw is their “Chef’s Table” where diners can select an all you can eat option for only $22.95. The Chef’s Table also has a salad bar, and a number of interesting vegetarian dishes like Ratatouille, Broccolini & Grape Salad, and Turmeric Roasted and Caramelized Cauliflower. Traditional Brazilian dishes like Feijoada (Black Bean Stew with Sausage) and Brazilian Fried Rice were also available that day.
The Chef’s Table contains prepared food that is served buffet-style. They have different options and they vary in price depending on your food preference and appetite. Silva’s Fresh Eatery and Churrascaria has per plate selections, at $10.95 (vegetarian), $12.95 (non-beef options) and $15.95 (beef options).
The meat selection that day included: Sirloin Coulotte, Garlic Sirloin Coulotte, Skirt Steak, Tri Tip, Garlic Chicken Drumstick, and Calabrese Pork Sausage. My dining partner really liked the Garlic Sirloin Coulotte. I enjoyed both the Tri Tip and the Calabrese Pork Sausage. Every meat we tasted burst with Brazilian spice flavors and was juicy and moist inside.
I noticed that they have retractable curtains, a ceiling mounted projector and of course a cool bar. That said, with the extensive choices of food available, Silva’s Fresh Eatery and Churrascaria would also make a great destination for a holiday party, wedding reception or a retirement party.
