Odys and Penelope recently announced a $29 Sunday Supper. The menu consists of five different items including dessert. Since my wife and I recently had an enjoyable experience at Odys and Penelope, I notified my cousin and we hooked up with her and her husband on a recent Sunday.
Because we have a daughter in school, my wife and I rarely dine out on a Sunday night. Dining out on Sunday made me feel good because we haven’t done much of that since our pre-child years. Our reservation was for 5:30 p.m. and we met up with my cousin and her husband just before the restaurant opened.
On Sundays, diners may select any item from their regular menu. They can also choose their pre-fixe family-style dinner for two. The family-style dinner consists of a choice of ½ smoked chicken, Roast Beef, or Whole Grilled Fish as the entree. Customers may select a salad to share, two of their six available vegetable sides and a dessert to share.
The warm cheese puffs appetizer was quite tasty and the smoked hazelnut romesco dipping sauce nicely elevated the warm cheese puffs. The smoked flavor with the cheese puffs was an excellent flavor combination. This was a pleasant alternative to fresh bread.
White, golden and red fresh beets were attractively placed on the side of mixed greens tossed with chevre, diced apples, and pecans. The beets were naturally sweet and were tossed with green goddess dressing which brought back fond memories of my past.
My wife is a creature of habit and selected onion rings as one of her vegetable choices. Fortunately, she selected a healthier option, broccolini as the other. My cousin chose brussels sprouts and grilled asparagus as their sides.
My cousin and her husband selected the whole grilled branzino. They claimed the fish was tasty and seemed to be quite happy with their selection. My wife selected the Odys and Penelope style roast beef. While the meat was smokey and had great flavor, the meat was slightly tough and difficult to chew.
Each of the desserts was delicious.
I think their Sunday Supper Menu is a terrific bargain. You would be hard pressed to find a five-course meal that is priced at $29 per person. If that doesn’t appeal to you, diners can select from Odys and Penelope’s regular menu.
