Stop Bye Cafe is a gourmet food truck that services Indonesian-fusion cuisine. converted from brick and mortar to food truck and they prepare some of the best food that LA food trucks currently offer.
Food preparation is the key for Stop Bye Cafe as their meat is pre-marinated Further chef Justin Tulus benefits from his long-time kitchen experience by preparing meat that is full of flavor, moist and somehow tender. The beef in the banh mi sandwich and the beef tacos both exhibit this taste and eating experience.
Justin’s 18 Spice Chicken Jalajo Brussels Sprouts
Tulus brines the chicken for over 48 hours. It is braised, seared with Stop Bye Sauce and dusted with an 18 spice rub. Since it is served with one side, the obvious choice was their signature Jalajo Brussels Sprouts. The brussels sprouts are charred and tossed with a roasted garlic vinaigrette. The taste is amazing!
Lola’s Mexican Cuisine delivers fare that is a modern twist on Mexican food. A foodie industry colleague referred me to this restaurant and I’ve dined there several times enjoying both their food and craft cocktails. They opened in 2008 and are family-owned.
I was thrilled that they sold margaritas “to go”. A 16 oz “to go” serving was more than enough for both of us. We unpacked our haul and plated each item as if it was served at the restaurant. I called out to our Google Assistant and said “Hey Google, play some Mexican folk songs” and we pretended that we were on-site at Lola’s.
Attari Sandwich Shop is located in the heart of Little Tehran in Westwood. After Jonathan Gold wrote about this shop, it quickly caught widespread notice beyond the Iranian American community. While the dining room is closed, they make a subset of their menu available in “to go” format.
Koobideh Sandwich Beef Tongue Sandwich
The sandwiches are made with fresh French bread with an exterior that is crisp and flakey. The beef tongue sandwich is probably the most popular item. Ground beef is marinated with onions and spices. The sides are also popular, especially the osh soup and the sheerazi salad. After bringing them home, I reheated them in the microwave and they were fantastic!
Earlier this month, the state of California eased its alcohol rules on restaurants. It is now permissible for restaurants to sell beer, wine and pre-mixed drinks or cocktails for pick-up or delivery, as long as they are sold with food. Soon after, many restaurants offered their wine inventory at deep discounts. Other restaurants are exhibiting creativity by selling craft cocktails to go.
Bear in mind that the situation is changing rapidly. If you decide to purchase something “to go” or to be delivered, it’s best to contact the restaurant beforehand just to make sure.
